Algarabía y silencio interior

In Los estallidos de la selva (The Outbursts of the Jungle), the master wrote:

«One of my best memories of that place is the sunrises, because upon waking in the early morning, everything would burst forth; first, the cacophony of the birds—one could imagine, through their tones, an entire variety of shapes, colors, and sizes; then, if I wanted, I would sharpen my attention to the murmur of the great waterfall in the distance, and also to the large, mighty river, or to the nearby stream with its waterfall where we used to bathe, or perhaps to a gentle breeze that would open the eyes of the child I was and reveal to me the light of the new day.» (Carlos Jacanamijoy, Los estallidos de la selva, Revista Volar, Bogotá, April-June 2012, p. 23.)
